Big Top

A fraction late reaction
Leaves an action star in traction
A whole Nation stops to hold its breath

A Hollywood diva heiress
Gets arrested and embarrassed
A Nation frowns and shakes its weary head

Left to fend in gutters
A teenage mother sighs and mutters
"Wish someone out there cared that I'm cryin"

Ten thousand men used and bruised
Falsely imprisoned and abused
A 12 second spot news coverage at 9

A world that doesn't care
About Its forests stripped bare
And its denizens pollute and trash the seas

It makes so much more cash
To reduce it all to ash
Than to use methods a little bit more green

Soldiers rights are held for ransom
Til a party's demands are answered
Bet they'll be reelected next year

An agenda weighed above, and spurned
The needs of those they govern
Men allowed to control through deceit and fear

While children now are starving
Your cars parked at Burger King
Your order is wrong, you're righteously enraged

While I enjoy a nice long shower
They'e been digging through wreckage 72 hrs
In hopes that there might be someone left to save

With our lazyboys and loafers
We live our lives in peace and comfort
Even when we fight to make the grade

So just remember when you sit there
Watchin stories in your armchair
That this world could still use a bit more change.
