Braindead

I'm trying to write but my mind can't stay within the lines
Like a drunken barfly, wandering from side to side trying to deny his beer
It's like my mind has flatlined and I'm on the outside
Putting paddles to my temples and yelling
Clear!... Clear!.......... Clear!!
... I think we lost him
Another in a long list of casualties
A faceless fatality
Braindead from video games and MTV
Contact his family, its such a tragedy
Perhaps we'll have a eulogy and then go grab some Mickey D's
You see that's all we need
Life filled with fast food, fast cars, and luxury
It's amazing how simple things are
Yet how complicated we perceive them to be
Then everything passes
In flashes of half lit cashed hits
And then your back to your last bits of gasping fits
When your brain has quit and you've lost your wits
You're left with a disaster
Oh, my god, they killed Kenny
You Bastards!
Except that it was you and me
I blame society
It's their responsibility keep our brainwaves free
It's not our place to intervene
It's their mess, and we want to have it cleaned
Dry-pressed, hand washed and made pristine
Brought back with flash and tambourines
Parade that shit as if it gleams
And feed it back as reruns on HD screens
And the disembodied phantoms of our random mental tangents
Will haunt the cobweb mansions of our consciousness abandoned..
Like a drunken barfly, wandering from side to side trying to deny his beer
It's like my mind has flatlined and I'm on the outside
Putting paddles to my temples and yelling
Clear!... Clear!.......... Clear!!
